Apple is buying Panini for $2.6 billion, the company announced Tuesday.
Apple will also acquire a controlling interest in the mobile gaming platform, which Panini bought in December.
The deal is expected to close by the end of 2018.
Panini was acquired by Amazon in 2014.
Apple said in a statement that the purchase will strengthen Apple’s mobile gaming portfolio and accelerate its digital growth.
Paninis new investors will have access to the company’s cash, the statement said.
Panini is one of the largest mobile gaming companies in the world.
Its apps include Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Clash, and Clash Royale.
Panis revenue has more than doubled in the last two years to nearly $3 billion, with over 400 million players worldwide.
Apple has not said when it will announce the deal.
